Do you have the gift of an eagle-eye?
Bald eagles soar through my neighborhood. Their wide spread wings glide gracefully; then suddenly, they take a high-speed dive toward the lake to catch fish they’ve spotted from high altitudes.
How clearly can humans really see? When we think we see the big picture, we need to be reminded there’s more to it which is deeper, wider and higher than we can capture. The Creator in control of all situations is God; we are not.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
The Holy Spirit opens eyes to Truth received by the faith. Only in Christ are we justified and sanctified in the sight of the Father who sees every nation, under God, through His Son. The Word’s insight is given by grace for strength to turn away from fear and darkness toward light, forgiveness, confidence and comfort.
Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Rather than complain…
Remember, anger may lead us to isolate ourselves. If we try to stay afloat on our own log, without offering or receiving grace, eventually we’ll sink. Survival depends on God’s Word. Jesus says,
“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.” Luke 6:41-42
“Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
